Two of my articles have been re-published in Warm Earth’s July/August issue. One is on gardening with children, and the other on home based learning. I will also have several new articles published by Warm Earth over the coming issues. Stay tuned!

Bel, I just had to say thank you for a 3 year old article you wrote
I was just going through an old issue of Education Choices (Issue 4 actually) - hand-me-downs from my sister - and came across an article on Record keeping. It’s a subject on my mind atm as I’m gearing up for registration. Billy is about to turn 6. I’ve been keeping sporadic weekly tick-sheets on what sorts of things we do and was hoping the inspector doesn’t look too closely at the fact that I’m not doing it every week. You quoted Beverley Paine in your article about keeping a ’snapshot’ of your program - eg intensive record keeping every couple of months. So I’ve decided I’m not slack at record-keeping, I’m taking random snapshots lol.
Thanks!

Hi Kez! Thank you so much for the feedback - something writers rarely get… I’m glad the article was of use to you. Maybe I should put it on my blog too?

If you still have a softcopy it’d be a good idea to put it on. You never know when it will help someone.

I thought the article was excellent. We visited two newsagents yesterday to buy the magazine.
I particularly liked the paragraph quoting School Can Wait.
I can relate to “The freedom other mothers celebrate when their children are at school is foreign to me..” I have found this to be my experience as a mother of a large family (5). Also, I was very offended once when a school had a tears & cheers morning tea at the start of my daughter’s schooling.

Tears and Cheers? Strange!
I’m glad you liked those articles. I’ll have one on bushtucker in the next issue I think, then 1-2 in each issue into next year. That’s presuming I submit them all by the deadlines - eek!
