This book is marvellous, isn’t it? I got it out from our local library and have given it a go. I managed to get through 2 weeks on $21 - that’s how much stuff I had floating around in my house. Now I make sure I’m using stuff up while I’m doing my menu plan. I’m spending more than $21, but I’m sure not spending as much as I was. The recipes are really fantastic, too. I loved the Budget Weetbix one. That disappeared pretty fast around here. I’m a member of the Simple Savers website and, so, had heard of, and participated in the $21 challenge before, but somehow this book prodded me into doing it in a more serious manner.

I never got back to you about the book, Renee… I found it just had all the $21 Challenge info in one place. On the site there’s bits here and there and some of the threads are so, so long with people’s personal stories. That’s great, but in the book it is all in logical order.

I learned a few great recipes out of it. A couple of tricks for looking at menu planning in different ways, and generally just re-inspired me to be frugal with groceries.

I highly recommend reading this book if you want to lower your grocery spending.
