Menu Week Starting 22nd September 22 September, 2008
Last week’s menu went fine, but again we missed a dish and moved it forward a week. We went out for a BBQ and took a lovely pasta salad (and other items) with us.
From the markets we have broccoli, cauliflower, pumpkin, corn cobs, bananas, new potatoes, peanuts, tomatoes, cucumbers, pineapples, rockmelons and more.
From the garden we have beans, broad beans, a little broccoli, lettuce, cherry tomatoes, kohl rabi, sugarloaf cabbages, bok choy, herbs, silverbeet, spinach, chokos, baby carrots, celery and herbs.
Last week’s baked enchiladas were delicious, and I’ll post the recipe soon. We didn’t make the honey oat cookies (again), but Abby made some cheese biscuits!
More and more hens are going broody, but we still have more than enough eggs.
It’s the final week of the challenge but because we have visitors here I’m only trying two new recipes this week (that I’ve planned).
Monday: Spiral pasta with Creamy Broccoli Sauce, boiled baby potatoes (leftovers) and corn on the cob
Tuesday: Boiled baby potatoes, boiled eggs and salads
Wednesday: Tuna patties and salads
Thursday: Sweet Potato Rice Patties (based on this recipe) with steamed vegies
Friday: Stirfry Potato, Pea & Cauliflower Curry and rice
Saturday: Pumpkin soup & bread, dessert (Frozen mango slice)
Sunday: Quiche & salad
Baking & Prep: Banana cakes.
