March 2007 News

March is moving month! We hope it’ll be a bit less rainy than February. It’s actually a silly time to move, but can’t help that much…

AT HOME: It’s back to living amongst boxes as we pack up to move. Also lots of long phone calls to various offices and services to arrange all that needs to be done. I feel like we’re quite organised, though.

AT WORK: Education Choices should be in our mailboxes next week! We’re working hard on the next one, which focuses on Dads and offers a lot of great material.

My seasonal column in Natural Parenting Magazine is a real joy to write. This third series continues with the new Autumn column out this issue. The first series are being posted here at the change of each season as well. Now that we’re living in the mountains, the seasons are more apparent - plenty of inspiration.

A book I helped to proof-read last year has just been released. It’s called The Homeschooling Trail: A journey of faith by Michelle Hastings. Click the title for further info.

I’m getting through the other projects and putting the feelers out for some more work for after we settle.

IN THE GARDEN: We’re harvesting eggplant, capsicum, tomatoes, salad greens, herbs and fruit from the orchard. The melons and pumpkins have fruit on that will hopefully enjoyed by the next tenant!

HOME ED.: We’re settling into more of a routine with this year’s home learning. There will be a pause when we move of course. I’m grateful that we’ve been able to move around like this with less interuption to the children’s lives than if they were schooled.

We are looking at a lot of different secondary material lately, there are so many options!

We’re also entering the realm of Prep, which has become the new first year of schooling for most Queensland 4 and 5 year olds.
