I think this one is originally from the Simple Savings site, where I get a lot of my recipes these days! Of course I’ve adapted it quite a bit… We had an excess of juicing carrots to use up this week, so I decided to make two cakes - one for dessert and one as a gift.

I was just saying tonight how disturbing it is that the government is in denial about Peak Oil and the global energy crisis. I’m not surprised to have stumbled upon this blog post by Green’s Senator Christine Milne.
What a pity more of our politicians aren’t of the same school of thought as Christine… Wake up Mr Rudd.
Last week’s menu was fine. We moved the soup to lunch the next day and had some vegie sausage sandwiches with coleslaw and salad because the children had a friend sleepover. The vegie sausages were half-price at the supermarket that afternoon.

Last week went well. The burgers were a hit and we’ll do those again. The enchiladas ended up being a slow cooker enchilada-bake. The pasta ended up having tomato-based sauce because somehow we ran out of butter and that’s the only white sauce recipe I know!
